ABOUT ME

I have been writing since I was 17 years old. After so many years of false starts, usually fizzling out by the 20th page, I decided to hunker down and write like I was going to die soon. Well, it worked. I actually wrote and finished my first book. Making it on the bestseller list is another story. Based on my experience--yeah, the one book--the easiest part is writing. Rewriting, at least 10 times, from cover to cover was harder than writing. 160 pages was reduced to 113. Selling is by far the hardest. I do not have the advertising money that book publishers have.  I rely on word-of-mouth, tweeting, blogging, handing out flyers, press releases, and ads in newspapers.

But, the point of all of this is: 29 years later, my dream of being a novelist came true. Now, I am on a roll. I am currently working on a collection of short stories which I plan on publishing this coming October 2014.

I hope you, my readers enjoy my book and tell others to buy it. Twenty five percent of proceeds from ALL THINGS VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE will be donated to Fisher House at JBLM. As a military retiree, I am paying it forward to my fellow Soldiers.

Yup, I'm a retired Army guy. I stopped shaving since then. Kinda looks gangster, but hey, I was born with that mug. I've been married to Tamara for over 21 years. I have a college age daughter, 2 sons in HS, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 5 turkeys, a llama, 3 sheep, and 2 goats. Tamara and I are trying to live green.

I work 3 days a week as an RN. I teach in an LPN program 2 days a week. The rest of the time, I am a husband, father, a homesteader wanna-be, and I try to do the chores my wife tells me to do immediately to a couple of years later if I can get away with it.
